Since 1980, TAFPC began to embark on the mission of sharing the love of God to the Taiwanese American communities in the central New Jersey area and in the grater NY/NJ/CT tri-state area through corporate worship, fellowship. Our church activities include Sunday worship services, Children Sunday School, Adult Sunday School and extends to Bible studies, family fellowship meetings and other programs throughout the week.
Because of the bilingual nature of our congregation, worship services and other fellowship activities are being conducted in both English and Taiwanese. Separate Taiwanese and English worship services are held simultaneously on Sunday afternoons. Our Taiwanese speaking members are mostly first generation immigrants from Taiwan. Our English speaking members are mostly 2nd generation Taiwanese-Americans from elementary children, junior youth, senior youth to college graduates. Many of our current English Ministry members are also currently attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick. The Taiwanese speaking members are assigned to regional Bible Study groups based on their geographic locations on Fridays. Senior and junior youth Bible Studies are held after service on Sunday afternoons. Once a month we plan to organize a youth activity/outing in which they can fellowship with one another. We also plan annual summer and winter retreats, lock-ins, special choir concerts, hand bell choir, and other community outreach and service projects. Each summer, many of our youths also seek out volunteer service projects (either locally or abroad) in which they can put their faith into practice through their service in the kingdom of God. This year¡¦s overall church theme is Honoring God¡¦s Will. Specifically the English Ministry will focus on how God¡¦s Will may be honored through our individuality and our unity and oneness in Christ. Just as Christ called us to be members of one another, we are also under the Lordship of Christ through our obedience and honoring of God¡¦s Will in our lives. We will explore this theme through our worship, bible studies, fellowship, mission, and outreach activities. We will be able to bear witness to how God brings all people together through the unity of the Spirit, as we celebrate our oneness in Christ. We strive to actively participate in the ministry of the universal church that are beyond the walls of the local church. Our goals are to: ¡P Achieve greater understanding of our Christian roles and responsibilities living together as a global community in the 21st century; ¡P Present the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and bear witness to the Christian faith beyond our own cultural, ethnic, and social comfort zones through evangelism/outreach/service to the community; and ¡P Identify and acknowledge what God is doing in other parts of the world through witnesses and testimonies of and hands-on service to others. Just as the Apostle Paul presented this notion of Oneness in Christ in Galatians 3:26-29:
Through our weekly worship and bible studies, we will be challenged while we focus on the needs in the ministry areas of Proclamation, Worship, Witness, Fellowship, Discipleship, and Service. Sunday Activities (for July & August) :
