Question 1:  Exodus 4:21

Why did the Lord on one hand send Moses to rescue Israelites from Egypt, and on the other hand hardened Pharaoh's heart by making it extremely difficult for Moses to accomplish the mission?

Question 2:  Exodus 4:24, 26

.   After Moses reluctantly accepted God's call to bring Israelites out of slavery, on the way to Egypt, according to Exodus 4:24, God wanted to kill him. In between the lines, Moses didn't do anything against the God. So, why did God want to take Moses' life?

Question 3:  Exodus 5: 1-3, Mark 1:12, 35

Wildness geographically is a barren place.  However in Bible, wildness is a meaningful symbol – it represents that Israeli left Egypt, the land of richness, for the place at which they gave sacrifice to worship God.  God tested Israeli’s faith in wildness (Exodus 15:25-26, 16:4).  Similarly, the Gospels in New Testament described that Jesus retreated to wildness to pray with God and be tested as well.

Some refer to immigrant experience in interpreting Exodus by representing Taiwan as Egypt and the U.S as the Promised Land materially rich. Do you agree to such an interpretation? If you do (or not), what condition does wildness represent?  What do you mean by “the wildness in life?”

Question 4: Exodus 12:8

"And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it". God clearly define what the Passover meal is all about. What does it mean anything to you?

Question 5: Genesis 48: 17-22

In spite of Joseph's reminder, Jacob insisted giving his blessings to Ephraim, the younger of Joseph's two sons more than Manasseh. Why?
