TAFPC Adult Sunday School Bible Study 台美團契長老教會成人主日學三年讀經運動 07/09/2006 討論問題 Question 1: Job Chap 23: 1-10 Here Job is asking, "Why is God so seemingly absent from human affairs?" At this moment, his pain increases, his frustration grows because he cannot find any way to get into contact and argue the point with God and get some answers to his problem. In your life journey, have you ever felt that way, abandoned, cannot find God, cannot find any answers, wanting some relief from the mental torture that increases your doubt and troubles you? In the midst of the darkness and suffering, do you think you would just walk away from God and give the life up? Or you would have, like Job has, the unshaken confidence and faith in God and tell to yourself "I don't understand what I am going through. I felt I've been doing the right thing and still this torment goes on, but I know that God will explain it to me some day”. Please share your thoughts.
Question 2: Job Chap 24: 1-25, Chap 29:1-25 From time to time, many people or Christians have been thinking or believing "If I obey God, and serve God, and do what I know to be right, God will prosper me bless me and take care of me, and l will never be exposed to any evil or pressure." But that seems to be contrary to what Job experienced. Also, questions like “Why bad people live longer and good people die young?” Or “I don't know what's wrong with me, but God won't answer my prayers. I cry out for help, I ask him for wisdom, and nothing ever happens. He just ignores me." Or "Why is God silent? Why doesn't God judge evil?” were often raised. What are your answers to those points or questions? Please share your thought.
