                 Question 1   Mark 4: 24 -25

  Why did Jesus say: "For to those who have, more will be given; and from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away." ?  Doesn't this sound like capitalism: the rich becomes richer; poor poorer?  What's your interpretation to this teaching?

                Question 2   Mark 5: 25 - 34  compared with Matthew 9:20 - 22

   This narrative about a woman with hemorrhage is different in two Gospels.  Please indicate the major differences?  What messages did each author of the Gospels try to tell us?

               Question 3   Mark 6:52   7:17  7:21

    "because they had not understood the real meaning of the feeding of the five thousand; their minds could not grasp it." (TEV, 6:52).  Have we ever experienced miracles in our lives even if they were not as dramatic as what Jesus did in feeding the 5000 or walking on water?  Please share your experiences?

              Question 4    Mark 7: 1 - 12

     These verses involve the issue of purity law with food.  Can you explain why Jewish people have to observe the law of washing hands before eating?   Rational or irrational?  Did Jesus regard tradition as a good or bad thing?  Please reflect on our own Taiwanese American culture as well.

             Question 5    Mark 8: 27 - 30

     Jesus in private asked the disciples to tell who Jesus actually was.  Only did Peter get it right to claim Jesus the Christ.  What does Christ mean to you?  Do you find out who Jesus is by yourself or  recognize Jesus by following the people who say so.  Please share your thoughts.

      這段經文講到守潔淨禮的問題。請解釋為什麼猶太人選擇食物和用餐有特別的宗教禮儀﹖守這些禮儀是理性還是不理性﹖根據耶穌的教訓﹐遵守傳統是好還是不好﹖請想想我們臺灣人(臺美人)傳統的好與壞。

     耶穌私下問門徒知不知道他真正的身份。眾門徒中只有彼得認對﹐宣告耶穌是基督。基督對你的意義是什麼﹖是你自己努力想認識耶穌是誰﹐還是你跟著別人信耶穌﹖請分享你的感想。
