“When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child; I made plans like a child.” – 1 Corinthians 13:11. The mission of our Sunday school is to help our young children develop their ability to love. Jesus said, “This is my command: Love each other”. By teaching our little ones how to be kind to one another, how to accept one another, and how to empathize with one another, we prepare them to obey Jesus and become His disciples.

In our Sunday school, we try to encourage parents to involve in serving our Sunday school, to create a child-learning environment, and to prepare our children to love, trust and obey our Lord.

The Sunday school teachers in this church believe: 1) every little one is the focus of our ministry, 2) every little one needs a biblical moral compass to guide him or her throughout life, and 3) every little one has unique gifts to be developed.

In our church, we pray for our children will feel loved in God’s house. We pray our children will learn to love Jesus. We pray the Bible lessons our children learn will become a part of their everyday living.

Here is a typical children Sunday school service in our church: first, two on-duty children ushers will greet our children and give each child Sunday school news letter and attendant sticker. Then, our service starts with hymn leaded by Mrs. Marianne Shen and Mr. George Chiu. Next, a child will read our opening prayer to prepare our children for the Sunday school Bible story. After that, our children will say out loud the Sunday school plague and greet each other by saying “Peace with you”. Finally, Mrs. Lilan Chen teaches our children the Bible story using colorful and vivid Bible felt set to catch our young children attention and encourages children to share their Bible knowledge and participate during the service. At last, children are grouped into three age-groups for different Bible study classes which are taught by Mr. Benjamin Chen, Mr. Tony Chang (3^rd and 4^th grade teachers), Mrs. Grace Jou, Ms. Cynthia Lee (K, 1^st and 2^nd teachers), Mr. Darren Osch and Mrs. Ruth Wu (pre-k and pre-schooler teachers).

One way of teaching our children to praise our Lord is to sing. Our Sunday School children choir practice every Sunday after service in the afternoon. Our children musical directors, Mrs. Marianne Shen and Mr. George Chiu, lead the children choir program to perform two Bible story musical plays twice a year. Our children are often invited to other church or fellowship to perform each year.
